What’s in my Resort Bag

I like to always have a warm weather trip on my calendar. Even if it’s far off in the future, planning a trip to a distant Caribbean beach helps me get through the coldest and craziest of days. I like to always pack light, too, just in case there are charter flights, ferry trips and golf cart rides included in the voyage (which there often are and make trip all the better). I’m hoping to discover a new island this year, but favorites like St John and Virgin Gorda are always on my list.

Here are a few must-haves for my next resort getaway:

*My John Robshaw duffel bag is the perfect size for a long weekend (and to squeeze in a few goodies I add along the way). It’s soft and light and easily recognizable amongst people’s luggage.

*I always take a light cotton shirt like the Brulee Boyfriend Nightshirt. It’s casual enough for denim shorts by day and chic enough for a maxi-skirt at night. Plus, I wear it over my bikini on all of my beach walks so I don’t get too sunburned.

*My Marc by Marc Jacobs reversible bikini. It looks like you have two suits with you and takes up no space. The halter and ties make this bikini very flattering, too.

*Underwear that are comfortable, cute and never give you panty lines. These microfiber girl shorts from Commando are perfect. You only need to take a few pair since you can wash them in the sink and they dry in minutes.

*A neon sandal that makes every outfit look cute, like these from Stella McCartney.

*My Oliver Peoples Sunglasses that I haven’t been able to live without for 10+ years. They are lightweight, perfect and don’t give you tan lines even after hours of beach reading.
