As a designer, traveler and lingerie wearer, many people ask me how to pack. I rarely check a bag, so have managed to learn how to ‘multi-task’ my style choices. Lingerie plays a heavy role (conveniently not weight-wise) in looking effortlessly chic wherever the wind takes me.
This season for Dea Rosa, I designed a bag big enough for a romantic tryst: the Maistros travel bag. Three must-have items inside include Dolce & Gabbana bodysuits, long La Perla silk gowns and caftans by resortwear designer, Miguelina. Each can easily go from bedroom to beachside apertif in an instant.
I’m currently loving Miguelina’s Edmy skirt, so I picked up a floral bodysuit by Dolce & Gabbana to layer under the white lace Edmy. Her Rachel caftan was my summer staple last year, as it easily doubles from covering up a bikini to a dress. Sometimes I’ll cinch it with a skinny belt to change up the waistline a bit.
When on holiday, I tend to migrate toward the same article of clothing day in and day out. A couple of summers ago in Italy, I lived in a long, silk La Perla gown. At night, I tossed on a cashmere cardigan or gauzy scarf to ward off the sea breeze.
Confidence is the key element in transitioning your lingerie to the outside world. It’s also imperative to pair your sexy selections with flat sandals to save you from looking like Elizabeth Taylor in Butterfield 8. Accessorizing helps too, and the vintage designer pieces from House of Lavande always top off the look. Happy travels!
