What woman doesn’t dream of having a closet full of gorgeous lingerie and a fabulous NYC loft apartment? Jessie Zinke, founder of the lingerie brand Zinke, has accomplished both. Along with her sister, Arin Robinson, these fabulous Oklahoma natives have created a gorgeous line of intimates featuring colorful silk bralettes and panties, and some of the most beautiful lace rompers I’ve ever seen.
The good taste doesn’t stop there. I got a glimpse of their beautiful NY apartment and fell as much in love with the kitchen, open loft space, artwork (by Tulsa artist Sara Matson Westover) and light fixtures as I am with their new line of swim debuting next spring. I already have Zinke’s printed cover-up on my must have list. Maybe it’s the original artwork in their designs, or the throwback to sweet, simple, intimates, but either way their pieces are wearable works of art.
Since the apartment is where Jessie both lives and designs (Arin’s home base is in Tulsa), it makes perfect sense that her aesthetic is continuous throughout her life and brand. The eclectic home design mixes modern and feminine with rich layers in texture and color. The lingerie has the same feeling of modernity mixed with vintage. No wonder the Zinke line is just as at home at Anthropologie as it is in a more intimate boutique like Journelle.
Jessie and Arin say they fell into design by accident, but I think it was by fate. After seeing their pieces spread out across an old barn table and patterned chairs at the loft, I realize that for them design is just an extension of their personal style.
